DR. BRIAN E. ROONEY, ’55, participated in four varsity sports while in high school: football, basketball, baseball, and track, receiving a total of 12 letters. During his senior year, he was captain of the football and basketball teams and MVP in football. That same year, he also made first team All Southwest Conference in football, baseball, and basketball. In track, he ran in state sprints and relays for three years, winning several medals. He then played football and ran track at Grove City College for one year, before transferring to Bowling Green State University and Baldwin Wallace College for pre-med. He received an osteopathic degree in 1964 from Kansas City College of Osteopathy with honors. He completed a residency in otolaryngology and allergy in 1969. He is presently on staff at St. John-West Shore Hospital. Brian lives in Rocky River with his wife Nancy and is a proud father and grandfather.
