Coach John Dickerson coached boys basketball from 1970-1980, building a successful, well respected program during a time when Olmsted Falls was the only AA school in the AAA SWC. He was named SWC “Coach of the Year” in 1973 and 1980 and was also chosen Cuyahoga County AAA “Coach of the Year” in 1980.  In 1975 he was selected to coach the U.S. All-Stars in the Dapper Dan Round Ball Classic in Pittsburgh, PA. During his coaching career, he also coached basketball and baseball at Elyria High School. He concluded his career as an educator serving as principal at Columbia High School from 1987-1995. Prior to his retirement in September 2008, he was an Assistant Commissioner with the Ohio High School Athletic Association for 13 years.  Other highlights of his career include officiating eleven state high school football championship games and being inducted into the Lorain County Basketball Coaches, OHSAA Officials, Ohio High School Baseball Coaches, and Ohio High School Soccer Coaches’ “Halls of Fame.” In addition, he was also named to the Canton Lincoln High School Distinguished Alumni Association. John and his wife Elaine reside in Powell, Ohio.
