FROM THE CLASS OF 1974 - MR. MIKE RYAN

Mike was considered to be the best defensive catcher that ever played on an Olmsted Falls baseball team. A well-rounded athlete, in football he was a Press star and All-Conference in
1973. In baseball he was All-Southwest Conference (3 years), MVP (2 years), a Press star, All-Scholastic and an All-Ohio Team member. He was the first player to represent the Bulldogs on the All-Ohio East squad. Mike received a baseball scholarship to Kent State University, where as a junior he broke the Kent fielding average for catchers and was captain of the team. He earned his master's degree in secondary education in 1986. For the past 17 years he has been a high school teacher, assistant football and wrestling coach, and the head baseball coach at Perry High School. He has earned numerous coaching awards, including Conference Coach of the Year, and was elected to coach in the prestigious All-Ohio Baseball Series -- twenty-two years after playing in it. Mike resides in Perry, Ohio, with his wife and three children.
