RON OAKLIEF, ’54, was a four-year letterman in basketball.  He was the first freshman at Olmsted Falls High School to be elevated to the varsity level.  During his four-year varsity career, the Bulldogs won four West County championships, four sectionals, and was district runner-up three times.  His honors included two sophomore scoring records, most points for a season, and most points for a single game.  He held a single-quarter scoring record as a junior, and won state honorable mention as a senior.  Ron also ran track and played four years on the Bulldogs football team.  He was selected to the all west county football team as a senior.   He worked thirty-eight years as a high school and college basketball official, and was the first official honored by the Cleveland touchdown club.   He currently lives in Medina with his wife, Geri.  They have four grown children and six grandchildren.
